Help with the Green Streets project

Donations in green bins

Donations in green bins

Volunteer, donate, take away free items; students, landlords and local residents can all get involved with the Green Streets project.

Donate any re-usable stuff you no longer want to Green Streets.

Volunteer with Green Streets

We hold free shops in the Union throughout the year and for a whole week during the summer. For this we need as many volunteers as possible to help sort and distribute items, run our free shops, drive collection vans and even make re-usable fashion. With volunteers getting first dibs on what’s there, why not come and help out on this multi-award winning project?

Volunteers are needed for the following dates:

  • 9th June, 10am-5pm – Setting up free shops
  • 10th June – 17th June – Free Shops (10am – 5pm)
  • 14th June – Volunteers needed to help with distribution
  • 16th June – Distributing and re-stocking University free shop

We also need volunteers to help us run our community free shops on the following dates:

  • 28th June – 2nd July – Brudenell Social Club, Headingley
  • Saturday 19th June – Ash Green Community Primary School, Mixendon
  • Monday 21st June – Hawksworth Wood Children’s Centre
  • Wednesday 23rd June – Hunslet Community Project, ‘Involve,’ The Involve Learning Centre
  • Thursday 24th June – Woodhouse Community Centre
  • Friday 25th June – Swarthmore Education Centre
  • Saturday 26th June – Burley Lodge Centre

You can sign up to help by visiting www.leedsaction.co.uk or emailing us: email hidden; JavaScript is required

Also keep an eye out for posters around the University advertising volunteering opportunities!
