St George's Crypt in Leeds are looking to involve as many people across the city as possible in helping us throughout the year from their 80th birthday (October 14) through to October 2011.
It promises to be a very exciting process. The Crypt are seeking to involve businesses, schools, public sector employees, churches, and indeed all sectors of our great city.
The year will commence with a launch event at the Crypt on October 14th at lunchtime – we want to share this with 80 people representing all facets of city life. We will then formally launch the 80 campaign. We want to encourage people to “think 80” – it could be about volunteering, sponsored events, using talents to raise £80 and encourage people to come up with ingenious and original ways of raising £80 each for the Crypt. There will be certificates for everybody – and special awards from a panel of eminent judges for the most ingenious projects in support of the 80 campaign in a variety of categories.
Our overall target in terms of money raised is £80,000 and we would like to enrol 80 new volunteers and to have staged through supporters 80 events.
